Examples of web pages and sites I have worked on
lib.uconn.edu is an older website, there is a lot of design debt, there is a lot of technical debt, being a research library website it has many complexities such as services, SaaS applications, search functions, etc. that make it more difficult than the average website to update or redesign. It is not the most modern site 😅 but it is functional and has very high usage / high visibility.
There is a plan for a redesign of the site in the future, and my work has been mainly updating existing content, adding new pages and designs to the existing WordPress theme while maintaining the overall look and feel of the existing site, upholding university branding standards, and trying to keep content current and functional - my web design work is focused on strategy, brand, accessibility, UX research, UI design, content creation and strategy, visual design, and project management. I work with technology/developers, the UConn Library Communication & Marketing unit, and a variety of collaborators and stakeholders across the library and university community.
We use the Agile process, Sprints, and Kanban, to plan for and collaborate on a large volume of work, with many varied stakeholders / customers.

This is phase 1 / incremental improvement of a large overhaul to the functionality and design of the web page, it is a small percentage of change from the original page aimed at making an update using resources minimally while making significant functional improvements, which include making the table design more consistent, accessible, searchable, and sortable. Phase 2 will be a large project shifting how information is displayed and making it easier to use. Served as project lead, UX and UI designer, contributed strategy, research, and UX content.

Technology Services
This page was designed to serve as a homepage for information about technology services at many library locations, services and location access vary and change frequently, so needs to be adaptable. I also provided creative direction and visual design for the web pages and videos on the related pages:
Visualization Studio
Maker Studio
Brand design and UX for external resources
Defining how the library's identity is integrated in external SaaS vendor sites, with a focus on user experience (UX).

Primo / General Search
Update to library wordmark to follow UConn brand standards and identify site as part of efforts to enhance and rebrand it to "UConn Library" from a previously well loved and recognized nickname.

WorldCat / Advanced Search
Previously there was no identifier indicating you are on the UConn Library's instance of WorldCat, the user journey was disorienting when arriving at the site from other locations such as Primo, it lacked context. Experience was improved with the addition of "UConn Library WorldCat" at the top of the page following UConn brand standards, but not using a wordmark, with the goal of making the identifier as large and visible as possible within the constraints of WorldCat. This was part of a large project to update Interlibrary Loan services web pages and external resources – I contributed UX design, UX content strategy, and project management.
